All Shine classes are in the style of Hatha Yoga, and are suitable both for beginners AND long term practitioners.  Learn to use biomechanical yoga alignment techniques in order to enhance your practice, and feel your best – in body, mind and spirit.  Stretch, build strength, and find joy!

 

Happy Yoga – Yoga for Self-Care:

EM-Power Yoga

Feel empowered as you build strength and flexibility.  Full body workout power flow class, suitable for moderate-advanced levels, with fierce-hearted, confidence boosting themes.

RESTORATIVE Mind-Body Yoga

Experience DEEP relaxation through restorative yoga postures (yoga postures supported by lots of comfy props so all you do is relax and let go!), deep breathing techniques, and meditative techniques such as Yoga Nidra and Tibetan Singing Bowls.

Post-Natal – Mom and Baby:

In this super adorable workshop, both moms and (pre-crawling) babes experience the benefits of yoga and enjoy bonding in the process!  Moms will learn gentle techniques to begin to strengthen, tone, and heal the post-pregnancy body in a way that is safe, comforting and enjoyable.  Also included are breath and meditation based coping tools for post-partum depression and general mental health wellness.  Unique to this program is a special section just for babies, where moms learn to help baby move in yoga poses designed just for them, to improve digestion, limb extension and growth, and healthy attachment and bonding.   (Don’t worry – babes aren’t expected to be quiet or participate fully!).   Appropriate and recommended for pre-crawling babes and their post-natal moms after the 6 week mark, with health care practitioner approval.

Pre-Natal Yoga

Pre-Natal yoga is a very beautiful, gentle form of yoga, with modified versions of the poses adjusted to each trimester, combined with beautiful breath practices.

Pre-Natal yoga helps moms relieve back pain, improve posture, develop pelvic floor strength, and increase the physical stamina required for labour. Pre-Natal yoga is also great for baby! There are lots of benefits for baby including: – enhanced physical abilities, including tolerance of contractions and more resiliency to the stress of labour – as well as enhanced mental abilities, including general intelligence and even oral language skills!

Come prepare yourself and your baby for labour, connect with your community as you practice with other moms going through the same thing as you, and get ready to be the best you can be, for both you and your baby.


For pregnant women in your First or Second Trimester. (Women in their Third Trimester can still do pre-natal yoga, but they need to have started the yoga lessons in their First or Second Trimester.)

SPECIAL NOTE: All mother’s to be need to complete and provide a “PARmed-X for Pregnancy” by the first lesson, and receive continued approval for participation from their health care practitioners.
